Shakespeare Act 2
Such a wonderful setting for our summer Shakespeare-themed concert! St Marylebone Parish Church, built around 1815, is surrounded by striking works of art that provided a beautiful backdrop to our performance. We made full use of the church's wonderful acoustics, offering a welcome contrast to the heat and bustle of the traffic outside. It’s deeply moving hearing the final notes linger in the space long after they have been sung.
As has become something of our trademark we presented a varied programme: everything from Purcell to Taylor Swift. Franciska opened the concert quoting A Midsummer Night's Dream: "Though she be but little, she is fierce," a parallel with our own choir. We may be small (for now), but our voices filled this large and welcoming space.
